When senior year begins to wind down to graduation, two young men, opposite in every way, share one obstacle; dreading the prom.
Emit Jacoby, the classic ‘geek’ is out to only one friend at school, and terrified to reveal himself to anyone else. In a desperate attempt to get a prom date, Emit makes a video, hoping to lure a celebrity to come as his date. But, the idea of posting the ‘said video’ would have major fallout. G.A. Hauser, the queen of the M/M erotic romance genre, has written an extraordinary feel good book without it being a Christmas story. Even though all of GA's books are terrific, this one goes beyond terrific because it is fabulous. The book also deals with homophobia in high school and the consequences (not necessarily bad) of having the courage to come out, in this case, during a prom which you will never forget. The primary characters, Emit, Joe, Brodie and Ron, as well as the secondary characters of Jody and Sam, are all very easy to love, and like the prom, will be remembered for a very long time. I intend to reread this book whenever I am feeling depressed, it is so uplifting and delightful despite the characters hitting some bumps in the road. While the basic story starts out as a typical nerd, Emit, having a crush on Brodie, the most popular guy in his senior class, the plot goes off in a very different direction than this plot usually does, making it not only wonderful, but also unique. To avoid giving away too much of the plot, all I can say is buy this book today so that you can boost your spirits and enjoy the gift of an incredibly good story that you don't want to miss.Product details

she has blow me away again. an amazing story that is an emotional roller coaster.
it is amazing what she is able to do with her writing talent.

G. A. Hauser did an amazing job writing this book as she always does. I highly recommend reading. I've read it twice and found it hard to put down.
I started reading this because I liked the premise but the writing was so bad I had to stop after thirty pages--and I finish everything! Needed serious editing--not just typos but using the wrong words on several occasions. I wasn't expecting great literature but this author needs to take page from any of Cat Sebastian's books.
This has to come under one of my favorites
It has everything I look for in a really great story
It was funny, yet in some parts of the story I cryed
That's not to say it wasn't sexy hawt
A story of young men coming out they are gay. The stress,of school and family for these young people touched my heart.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes this genre.
There is a special folder in my for stories like "The Prom Date." There are not many entries therein. The folder is labeled "7 Star Books." When I find a story that is exquisitely written, that makes me laugh and cry and helps me move a little closer to being the person I want to be, then I give it my »at least seven stars« rating. This will be classified as a coming-of-age LGBTQ story for young adults; and so it is. But it's more. It is a becoming good friends, decent loving adults and heroines and heros story. I wholeheartedly recommend "The Prom Date" to parents. I hope they would pass it on to their teenagers as soon as the kids are ready for it. Thank you G. A. Hauser!
